Webinar
August 4, 2008
Time: 12:30-2 p.m. CENTRAL TIME

Register for this event online:
August 4, 2008 ($295 per line)

Program Description
Myriad complex issues confront hospitals evaluating their ambulatory strategies. Increasing numbers of procedures may be done in an ambulatory setting, providing an opportunity for hospitals to shift this service out of the busy hospital inpatient area to dedicated ambulatory settings where there are greater opportunities to focus on throughput and patient and physician satisfaction. Hospitals are facing competition from physician-owned surgery centers, and patients, physicians and nurses have demonstrated a strong preference for the ambulatory setting.

The program provides an approach for evaluating the opportunities and pitfalls in implementing an ambulatory surgery strategy.

Program Topics:
At the completion of this program, the participant will be able to:
  • A consideration of models along the continuum of full hospital ownership versus physician joint venture
  • Single specialty versus multi-specialty models
  • Design and facility considerations
  • Cost and feasibility analysis
  • Financing options
  • Reimbursement limitations that affect model selection
Participants will leave with a greater understanding of how to evaluate risk and benefit tradeoffs, models that work best for their given circumstances, physician alignment methods and capital needs.
