Lynn Massingale, MD, FACEP, Executive Chairman, TeamHealth
Dr. Lynn Massingale began his emergency medicine career as a staff physician before co-founding TeamHealth in 1979 and growing the organization into the nation's leading provider of hospital-based clinical outsourcing. Board-certified in emergency medicine, Massingale has worked with thousands of emergency physicians across the country to help develop their organizational leadership skills. In addition to his work with TeamHealth, Massingale has served as medical director for the Division of Emergency Medical Services of the Tennessee Department of Health. He has served in various capacities involving emergency care at the Knoxville Academy of Medicine and the Emergency Department Practice Management Association, where he served as chairman. Massingale is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.

Barbara Blevins, FACHE, COO, Emergency & Hospital Medicine Divisions, TeamHealth
Barbara Blevins is a seasoned health care executive known for leading change in hospitals, health systems and other health care organizations. As CEO of Parkwest Medical Center, the 462-bed flagship facility of Tennessee-based Covenant Health, Blevins championed an evidence-based leadership model that reduced employee turnover, improved patient satisfaction, grew market share and improved both clinical and financial indicators. Under her leadership, Parkwest earned HealthGrades Five-Star honors and became an eight-time Solucient Top 100 Heart Hospital. Blevins is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. She holds degrees in business administration and health care administration and has hands-on experience implementing best-practice leadership models across multi-hospital health systems. Today, as chief operating officer of TeamHealth's emergency and hospital medicine divisions, Blevins is leading performance initiatives that will enhance the organization's emergency and hospital medicine programs.

Eric Heckerson, RN, MA, FACHE, Vice President of Operational Performance, TeamHealth
Eric Heckerson, RN, MA, FACHE has more than 25 years of experience in EMS and ED management. He has been to more than 300 EDs nationwide in his career. Heckerson is currently vice president of operational performance for TeamHealth and previously worked as an ED coach/consultant for the StuderGroup; ER Director; Inpatient Administrator; emergency nurse and a paramedic. A prolific writer and lecturer, Heckerson recently presented "Own the Room: 10 Tips for Creating Exceptional Presentations" at the 2009 American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Annual Congress and has presented for StuderGroup's national conference as well as regional and local conferences on EMS, leadership, and ED improvement. Heckerson has a BS in Nursing, MA in Organizational Management, and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Theresa Tavernero, RN, CEN, MHA, Associate Director for Patient Safety Programs, TeamHealth
Theresa Tavernero, RN, CEN, MHA, is a veteran emergency nurse with extensive experience as a clinician, educator and administrator. Over a 32-year span, she has directed emergency and trauma services in many hospitals. She serves as a national and international consultant, educator, author and speaker on a wide range of topics related to emergency department and disaster management operations. As Associate Director of Patient Safety Programs for TeamHealth, Tavernero works with the Chief Medical Officer, helping oversee the organization's risk management program. In this role, she helps lead and coordinate CQI best practice projects and develop educational tools that include innovative, award-winning video teaching vignettes known as the Patient Safety Fables. Tavernero is a national consultant and instructor trainer for Dynamic Research Corporation's crew-resource team training program MedTeams. She has also served as faculty of Indo-US Global Emergency Medicine and Trauma Collaborative in India for three years, and she served as chief nurse for the Combat Medic Proficiency Course and Frankfurt Regional Army Hospital Clinic System in Germany during Desert Storm.

Mark Harris, MD, FACEP, SVP, Emergency Medicine Division, TeamHealth
In addition to leading performance enhancement initiatives for EDs nationwide, Dr. Mark Harris helps create leadership development programs and training and accountability programs for ED medical directors throughout TeamHealth's network of affiliated physicians. Harris earned his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine. He performed his internship at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville, Indiana, and completed his emergency medicine residency at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Harris is a diplomate of the American Board of Emergency Medicine, a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and a member of the American Academy of Medical Management.

Substitution, Transfer and Cancellation Policy
Cancellations received in writing up to five business days prior to an event will be given a full refund less a $50 processing fee. No refunds will be given for cancellations received less than five business days prior and day-of-program no-shows. Substitutions are accepted.
