Advocacy Day, April 8, 2003, Madison

Advocacy Day, April 8, 2003 - 400 Attend from Around State

Nearly 400 hospital employees, volunteers and auxilians braved the weather and gathered in Madison for an informative Advocacy Day on April 8. Governor Doyle presented his views on the difficult but necessary decisions surrounding the state budget.

A panel started the day featuring Assembly Speaker John Gard, Senate Minority Leader Jon Erpenbach and Representative Jon Richards.

The Health Advocate Award was presented to Senator Dale Schultz by Bobbe Teigen, CEO of Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital.

The Health Advocate Award was also presented to Senator Bob Jauch by Terry Jacobson, CEO of St. Mary's Hospital in Superior.

The Advocacy Participation Award was presented to WHA Partners President Pat Dagnon by WHA President Steve Brenton. The auxilians and volunteers in the hospitals are important advocates for the state's hospitals and were recognized for their participation by receiving this award.
