Wisconsin Nurse Residency Program

An adequate supply of Registered Nurses to provide the care needed by Wisconsin residents is a concern for hospitals in Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Hospital Association. Successful transition from school to work is one piece of assuring that workforce. The Wisconsin Nurse Residency Program is a structured learning experience for new registered nurses designed to promote effective transition into professional practice. It is a federally funded statewide collaboration between Marquette University and rural and urban acute care health care partners in Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Hospital Association is supporting the Residency program by hosting this website and encouraging organizations to participate in the project or to monitor its progress and successes.
