Beginning in 2001, WHA invited hospital leaders to submit patient safety improvement projects, which were showcased in a fall educational session. Responses were so enthusiastic that WHA will offer this event annually. In 2002, 2003 and 2004 the response was equally positive as it was in 2001.
Showcase hospitals are recognized among Wisconsin leaders as leaders in patient safety. Submissions to this program are included in WHA's Quality and Safety Showcase manuscript, which is distributed to WHA members, Patient Safety Wisconsin and the National Patient Safety Foundation.
