Program Description

The Wisconsin Hospital Association (WHA) is inviting you to participate in one or both of the webinars in The Disparities in Stroke Care Learning Action Network (LAN) series. The series will consist of two pre-recorded, didactic webinars as pre-work to the two live-virtual learning and networking sessions (one following each of the two recorded webinars).  This FREE webinar series is sponsored in part by the Wisconsin Stroke Program at the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. Funding for the stroke program is made possible by the Paul Coverdell National Acute Stroke Prevention Program at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The group's mission is to discuss the causes of disparities in stroke care, share solutions, and offer professional networking for improving stroke outcomes across the state of Wisconsin. This session will be hosted by WHA physician improvement advisor Dr. Bobby Redwood with hospital subject matter experts in stroke care available for discussion. The content is appropriate for stroke coordinators, stroke medical directors, quality improvement professionals working to improve stroke care, and any healthcare professional who treats stroke patients.

Each recorded webinar will be followed by a 90-minute Learning Action Networking (LAN) virtual event.

  • Identify and understand the impact of the following variables on stroke incidence and severity: COVID-19 infection, social determinants of health, risk and protective health behaviors.
  • Examine and discuss methods to work within their communities to address these upstream factors, in particular among those disproportionately impacted by stroke.

Who Should Attend

The content is appropriate for stroke coordinators, stroke medical directors, quality improvement professionals working to improve stroke care, and any healthcare professional who treats stroke patients.
