Inaugural WHA Health Care Leadership Academy Class Recognized in Graduation Ceremony

The first class of students in the WHA Health Care Leadership Academy has graduated from the innovative program designed to help health care leaders to successfully navigate growing industry complexities and opportunities.

On June 22, the cohort of 12 individuals representing 10 Wisconsin hospitals started off their last two days of instruction with UW School of Business Center for Professional & Executive Development (CPED) instructor Katrina Cravy. Cravy led an interactive session entitled, “Executive Presence: Communicating with Confidence and Credibility.” That session was followed by “Digitization and the Future of Health Care” presented by Vallabh “Samba” Sambamurthy, PhD, an Albert O. Nicholas Dean with the UW School of Business. Both sessions were rich in content with real world applications. Following this full day of learning, the group was celebrated with a graduation ceremony followed by a dinner reception. Attending the graduation ceremony and the celebration with the students were the instructors of the academy, UW CPED staff, WHA staff and representatives from the sponsors of the academy—WHA Premier Partner M3 Insurance and the WHA Foundation. During graduation, each student shared the aspect of the academy that made the biggest impact on them. Examples ranged from the module on emotional intelligence to relationships built between classmates.

Capping off the day was a surprise visit from Bucky Badger and the UW Wisconsin Band.

WHA Health Care Leadership Academy 2022 graduates with Bucky Badger.

WHA congratulates the graduates listed below and their respective hospitals for investing in the future of health care in Wisconsin. An online photo album of the graduation celebration is available here.
