WHA Information Center Offering Free Virtual Training Session on Kaavio

Kaavio is WHA Information Center’s (WHAIC) analytics engine where all available visualizations are built. It essentially makes the WHAIC data easier to use (or slice and dice). Kaavio is a self-service analytics and visualization tool that enables users to attain deeper insights from their data. Using Kaavio you can drill down into the data by applying filters to discover historic trends in departments across your facility.

Assembly Committee on Regulatory Licensing Reform Holds Hearing on WHA-Backed Legislation to Improve

On May 10, the Assembly Committee on Regulatory Licensing Reform held a public hearing on AB 202, legislation WHA encouraged the Wisconsin Legislative Council Study Committee on Occupational Licensure to include in its package of reforms that aims to improve the legal review process the Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) undergoes when reviewing licensure applications.

Wisconsin Hospitals State PAC & Conduit 2023 Fundraising Campaign Kicks Off

The Wisconsin Hospitals State PAC & Conduit kicked off its 2023 fundraising campaign last month with a special breakfast for early contributors prior to WHA's Advocacy Day on April 19 in Madison. The fundraising campaign runs through the calendar year, and this year's goal is to raise $350,000. Last year, the Wisconsin Hospitals State PAC & Conduit raised a record-breaking $373,000 from 278 individuals.

WHA’s Senior Vice President of Public Policy Joanne Alig joined a panel of Medicaid stakeholders at a Wisconsin Health News luncheon on May 9 in Madison. Alig and the panelists discussed the main issues impacting the Medicaid program, including dynamics of the program’s redetermination of the eligibility process due to the ending of the public health emergency and pressures on hospitals that are putting access to care in jeopardy.

Legislation on Hospital Price Transparency Proposed in Wisconsin

Despite Wisconsin hospitals earning 4.5 out 5 stars from a private sector company for having available and complete price transparency files as required by the federal government, and despite no hospital being fined by the federal government for failure to comply with the federal regulations, on May 3, a new bill on hospital price transparency creating state level regulations on top of the already existing federal requirements was announced by four legislators in Wisconsin.
