Every May, people come together to raise awareness and spread education about Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, more commonly referred to as ALS. The ALS Association defines the disease as, “a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.”

The Governors shared a common view on political divisiveness today and encouraged attendees to rise above the partisanship to make an impact by telling their story.

Stoughton Health Receives WHA's 2023 Advocacy All-Star Award

Stoughton Health received the 2023 Advocacy All-Star Award at Wisconsin Hospital Association’s (WHA) annual Advocacy Day event on April 19 in Madison attended by nearly 1,000 hospital advocates. Presented by WHA Vice President of External Affairs Kari Hofer, the award recognizes one hospital or health care system that exemplifies a dedication to grassroots advocacy.

Rep. Mark Born Receives WHA’s 2023 Advocate of the Year Award

WHA presented State Rep. Mark Born (R-Beaver Dam) with the Association’s 2023 Health Care Advocate of the Year Award at its 2023 Advocacy Day held April 19 at Monona Terrace in Madison. Born was honored for his partnership with local hospital leaders and his support for legislation to provide necessary Medicaid funding to hospitals, remove unnecessary regulations and bolster the state’s health care workforce.
