Grassroots Spotlight: AdventHealth Durand joined by Rep. Van Orden and Sen. Baldwin Staff to Celebrate New Ambulance Bay Ribbon Cutting
On May 13, WHA joined AdventHealth Durand as it celebrated a ribbon cutting for the opening of its new ambulance bay.
The $916,000 project was completed with federal funding via Congressionally Directed spending requests secured by former U.S. Rep. Kind and U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin. Since the original hospital opened in 1983, ambulance sizes have outgrown the size of the original ambulance bay. The new bay will fit modern ambulances so that patients no longer need to be loaded and unloaded outside in the elements.
Joining AdventHealth Durand CEO Doug Baldwin and his staff were Director of Administrative Services Tali Schmitz, Director of Advocacy Molly Haase, Chief Financial Officer Shawn Perry, members of Durand Municipal Ambulance Service and local community leaders. Also participating were Senator Baldwin’s district representative Gregg Wavrunek, U.S. Rep. Derrick Van Orden’s field representative Brian Westrate, and WHA VP of Federal and State Relations Jon Hoelter.
