Susan Morelli-Puricelli, RN, BHA, MPA, Senior Risk Solutions Consultant of MedPro Group, discussed risk management fundamentals and the relationship with other operational programs in health care settings to quality leaders, compliance and risk managers, safety officers and CNOs from 17 Wisconsin hospitals and health systems in a webinar on May 21.
Morelli-Puricelli shared risk management is best approached proactively with an evidence-based perspective and that “an effective risk management program has many goals such as enhancing the culture of safety to create an atmosphere of trust where staff feel free to speak up about safety concerns, improving patient and workplace safety, and protecting patients from harm and or injury.”
