2024 Physician Leadership Development Conference a Success

On March 15 and 16, 147 WHA hospital member CEOs and physician leaders travelled to The American Club in Kohler, WI for the annual Physician Leadership Development Conference. This day and a half CME event provided varied and engaging presentations targeted toward this group’s unique roles and responsibilities in their respective hospitals.
 
Dr. Steve Berkowitz provided his research and experience in the areas of artificial intelligence (AI) in health care, as well as his lessons learned as a chief medical officer in how to be a successful physician executive. WHA President and CEO Eric Borgerding shared what the current challenges are in health care in Wisconsin. Day one ended with Krystal Hopton from AMN Healthcare reviewing a 2023 report of physician and advanced practitioner recruiting incentives. That evening, the group had the unique opportunity to explore and experience the Kohler Design Center for the evening dinner reception. The dinner reception included various gourmet food stations.

Day two featured WHA Health Care Leadership Academy instructor Scott Converse as he provided insight into executive project sponsorship. Chief Physician Executive-Midwest Region for Advocate Health Dr. Jeff Bahr closed the conference with his personal leadership story.
 
WHA gold-level corporate member Qualivis sponsored the conference luncheon and WHA gold-level corporate member and Friend of the Foundation, the WHA Information Center, sponsored the beverages at the Design Center dinner.
