Second Annual Workforce Virtual Forum
WHA’s 2023 Workforce Virtual Forum is scheduled for March 29 from 9 – 10 a.m. and registration is now open.
It’s been a challenging three years for hospitals and health systems and the health care workforce. 2020 and 2021 illuminated and exacerbated long-standing issues and heralded new issues that Wisconsin had previously been able to mitigate, such as widespread nursing shortages and a sudden and almost complete lack of access to post-acute care. 2022 brought on additional challenges in the form of an early and intense surge of RSV and influenza, and a worsening of supply chain shortages.
Also, the aging of the large baby boom generation, the Silver Tsunami, continues to challenge the health care workforce on two fronts: thousands of health care workers retire each day as the aging of our state’s population creates escalating demand.
Join WHA Senior Vice President of Workforce and Clinical Practice Ann Zenk for an hour-long briefing on the impact of these challenges on Wisconsin’s health care workforce. This WHA member-only virtual forum will lay the foundation for a day-long in-person WHA Health Care Workforce Forum to be held Sept. 13, 2023, In Madison. A follow-up to WHA’s inaugural Workforce Forum in 2022, the in-person event will provide WHA members and other key stakeholders an opportunity to discuss the workforce challenges confronting hospitals and health systems, and to learn about innovative strategies to address these challenges from expert speakers and from each other.
