On June 21, the cohort of 10 individuals representing nine WHA member hospitals started off their last two days of instruction with UW School of Business Center for Professional & Executive Development (CPED) instructor Katrina Cravy. Cravy led an interactive session entitled, “Executive Presence: Communicating with Confidence and Credibility.” That session was followed by “Digitization and the Future of Health Care” presented by Vallabh “Samba” Sambamurthy, PhD, an Albert O. Nicholas Dean with the UW School of Business. Following this full day of learning, the group participated in a graduation ceremony followed by a dinner reception.
Attending the graduation ceremony and celebration with the students were the instructors of the academy, UW CPED staff, WHA staff and representatives from the sponsors of the academy—WHA Premier Partner M3 Insurance and the WHA Foundation. Graduates from last year’s academy were also present. During graduation, each student shared the aspect of the academy that made the biggest impact on them. Some of the comments heard were “This program was more impactful than my MBA.” Also, “This program has inspired me to obtain my doctorate.”
Capping off the ceremony was a surprise visit from Bucky Badger. The second day and final day of the academy included Jeff Chan who taught “Leading Strategic Change in Times of Uncertainty and Disruption” and Tracey Nelson who wrapped up the program with “Learning Actions: Next Steps.”
WHA congratulates the graduates listed below and their respective hospitals for investing in the future of health care in Wisconsin. An online photo album of the graduation celebration is available here.
