Second Annual Hospital Board of Directors Day of Learning Held in Madison on May 8
Another successful hospital Board of Directors Day of Learning was held on May 8 in Madison and streamed virtually. In total, 75 hospital CEOs and their respective board members joined WHA silver level corporate member Quarles & Brady, LLP, as they guided the group through the nuances of hospital board governance. Some topics that were explored included: Legal Duties, Protections and Roles of Board Members of Nonprofit Hospitals, Board and Medical Staff Relations, Antitrust Risk, and IRC 501. WHA Senior Vice President of Government Relations Kyle O’Brien kicked off the day discussing the current health care environment in Wisconsin. The interactive discussions were added points of learning as hospitals shared best practices as well as lessons learned.
