Gov. Evers Recognizes Wisconsin Hospitals in 2025 National Hospital Week Proclamation

Hospital Week proclamationIn celebration of National Hospital Week, May 11-17, 2025, Governor Tony Evers has issued a proclamation recognizing the essential role Wisconsin hospitals play in caring for their communities and supporting the state’s overall well-being.

The 2025 proclamation emphasizes that Wisconsin hospitals provide “accessible, compassionate, and high-quality healthcare services to the state’s residents every day,” creating opportunities for Wisconsinites to “heal from illness or injury and live their best, fullest, and healthiest lives.”

Governor Evers highlights the broader impact of hospitals across the state, noting their role as major economic drivers, employers of hundreds of thousands and contributors of $50 billion in economic impact annually. The proclamation also calls out Wisconsin hospitals’ strong performance in health care quality—ranking among the top 10 states nationally for patient satisfaction among five-star rated hospitals.

Hospital Week GraphicIn addition to their core mission of providing medical care, the proclamation recognizes hospitals as a crucial safety net that extends far beyond the walls of clinical care. Wisconsin hospitals provide $2.3 billion annually in community benefits and charity care, including uncompensated care and public health programs that improve lives across the state.

Gov. Evers joins all Wisconsinites in celebrating and thanking hospitals for their dedication to safe, effective and efficient care.
