Nadine AllenJill LindwallOn April 23, WHA Chief Quality Officer Nadine Allen and WHA Quality Director Jill Lindwall joined the 2026 WHA Health Care Leadership participants to share their experience and knowledge around quality improvement efforts. Their presentation, “Understanding how to use the multitude of data available for quality governance is the key driver to improving patient safety and reducing harm,” connected this to the work hospital leaders should be knowledgeable of and involved in with their teams.

They further expanded on the Institute of Healthcare Improvement’s (IHI) Triple Aim Model. The Triple Aim involves improving patient experience of care (quality and satisfaction), driving down cost and improving population health. Other templates, such as the Science of Quality Improvement models - Plan, Do, Study, Act (PDSA), Small Tests of Change (STOC) and Lean Six Sigma were shared as resources for implementing change.
