HRSA Offering Grant Funding to Strengthen Quality Improvement in Small Rural Facilities

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has announced new funding available to health care providers in rural areas through the Small Health Care Provider Quality Improvement Program. The purpose of this program is to strengthen the quality improvement culture in small rural health care facilities by building capacity to effectively collect and use clinical data while implementing evidence-based approaches to improve health care quality with a particular focus on improving chronic disease outcomes. 

Grants of up to $250,000 each will be awarded to providers, such as critical access hospitals, rural health clinics or networks of small rural providers. In addition to a particular focus on improving chronic disease outcomes, funding is intended to be used to strengthen the skills and collaboration of the billing and coding staff in coordination with front-line clinical staff. 

Grant applications are due no later than 10:59 p.m. Central Time on Aug. 6, 2026. More information can be found at the HRSA grant website
