WHA Seeks Community Benefit Stories, Board Member Quotes for Upcoming Report – Due Sept. 18

WHA is seeking stories for its 2026 Community Benefits Report. An important component of WHA’s Community Benefits Report, in addition to Wisconsin hospitals’ financial contributions to community development initiatives, are stories submitted by our members highlighting the many ways you are making a difference within your community, over and above providing excellent health care.

These stories will be shared with legislators and other health care stakeholders and decisionmakers throughout the state. You can view last year’s report, hospital stories and quotes here.

We are looking for new stories in the following areas:

  • Charity Care/Free Clinics
  • Growing and Developing Our Health Care Workforce
  • Addressing Health Equity
  • Hospital-Supported Initiatives (from your community health needs assessment)

Stories and photos should be submitted using WHA’s online form.

Submit a Board Member Quote

We are also asking hospital board members to share a brief quote reinforcing how your hospital strengthens the community beyond patient care. Their perspective shows how hospitals support a healthy workforce, attract and retain businesses and serve as anchors for local economic growth.

Click here for last year's report featuring board member quotes. Below are two sample statements:

  • “Having [Hospital Name] in our community strengthens the local economy by providing care, creating jobs, and supporting the well-being of our workforce.”
  • “[Hospital Name] is more than a hospital—they’re an anchor institution helping our community and local businesses thrive.”

If you have a board member who would be willing to participate, please contact WHA Senior VP of External Affairs and Member Engagement Kari Hofer at khofer@wha.org

If you have questions about the report or stories, contact communications@wha.org. The deadline to submit stories and board member quotes is Friday, Sept. 18.
