Program Description
This 1 hour online, interactive presentation will focus on well being and self-care for social workers, nurses and other helping professionals. It will provide information on secondary traumatic stress and vicarious trauma and realties faced in this work, providing a rationale for why this topic is so important. Additionally, the presentation will include a practical component that allows participants to assess their level of secondary traumatic stress and consider how to create a self-care plan that is tailored to their needs. This presentation also debunks the myth that self-care is time prohibitive, expensive, or simply a trendy topic.
