MOVIN on Acute Care
In April 2023, Tomah Health introduced the MOVIN’ program, enhancing their standard staffing by integrating an Ambulation Aid. This dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A) focuses solely on advancing patient ambulation and encouraging activity at least three times daily. Mobility is now a cornerstone of patient care, significantly reducing in-hospital decompensation risks. Since the program's implementation, Tomah Health has seen notable improvements in both the distances ambulated by patients and the frequency of ambulation. This success is attributed to the strong partnership between the Ambulation Aid and inpatient Physical Therapy, ensuring that mobility practices are safe and effective. Tomah Health takes pride in its proactive approach to healthcare, prioritizing preventative care for its inpatient population.
