Parental and Caregiver Leave Programs

Developed in 2022, Mercyhealth partners will begin to receive the benefits of two new and innovative leave programs in 2023.

Mercyhealth has started providing up to four weeks of paid parental leave to employees following the birth of a child or the placement of a child with an employee in connection with adoption or foster care. The purpose of the paid parental leave is to enable parents to care for and bond with a newborn or a newly adopted or placed child.

Mercyhealth will also provide up to one week of paid caregiver leave so employees can care for qualified family members with a serious health condition. This policy also runs concurrently with state and federal FMLA leave, as applicable. Employees approved for the caregiver leave will be compensated at 100% of their base primary position rate of pay.
