Advance Your Patient Safety Strategy! The 2025 CMS Patient Safety Structural Measure (PSSM) calls on hospitals to conduct comprehensive, system-wide assessments to identify patient safety risks and demonstrate a strong commitment to organizational improvement. To support this effort, WHA Quality is hosting a two-part webinar series in June, facilitated by national experts from ECRI and The Just Culture Company.
These two-hour sessions will help hospitals:
• Understand and apply ECRI’s Top 10 Patient Safety Concerns
• Identify key organizational gaps
• Align efforts with PSSM requirements
• Implement strategic, measurable safety improvements
Hospitals participating in the upcoming WHA Patient Safety Webinar Series can complete ECRI’s free assessment tool to support alignment with the CMS Patient Safety Structural Measure (PSSM).

Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center - Janesville
Mercyhealth developed a targeted documentation tool to empower bedside staff to accurately record episodes of patient violence within the medical record. Alongside this, they implemented a violence risk screening tool embedded with meaningful interventions aimed at proactively identifying high-risk patients. This initiative supports staff safety, enhances leadership and security involvement, and fosters a culture where safety is a top priority. By improving reporting practices, we aim to reduce incidents of workplace violence and better protect our healthcare teams.
