The Aurora Rural Family Medicine Residency program prepares physicians to independently and competently practice full-spectrum family medicine. The Aurora Lakeland Medical Center accomplishes this by providing a patient-centered medical home to all community members, especially underserved minorities identified by income, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, and gender identity. The program strives to offer a diverse and inclusive clinical team of faculty, residents, and staff whose experiences and perspectives enhance the quality of provider training, care, and the lives of patients.
The Aurora Lakeland Family Medicine Clinic is the primary residency practice site. Residents have their continuity clinic here all three years. The clinic is conveniently located in Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. The hospital partners with the UW School of Medicine and Public Health to train residents from all over the U.S. and world.
In 2023, the program at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center hosted approximately ten students each quarter.
