Mayo Clinic Health System – Northland (MCHS – Northland) contributed $1,000 to support a multi-agency resource event in Rice Lake, organized by the Barron County Community Connections to Prosperity coalition. Known as Centerpoint, this quarterly event brings together more than 20 community organizations to offer vital services to Barron County residents experiencing hardship. Each Centerpoint event serves approximately 150 individuals, providing access to housing support, food, clothing, hygiene products, medical care, financial assistance, employment resources, free haircuts, and more. MCHS – Northland staff actively participated by distributing hygiene products to attendees. The donation from MCHS – Northland helped fund Somali and Spanish interpreters and supply free hygiene products, ensuring services were both inclusive and accessible.
Through its investment in Centerpoint, Mayo Clinic Health System reinforces its commitment to addressing social determinants of health, reducing poverty, and enhancing the quality of life for residents in the region. This collaboration exemplifies Mayo Clinic Health System’s broader mission to promote community well-being through compassionate care and active engagement.
