Healing Together: A Gift of Hope for Women and Children in Recovery
Mayo Clinic Health System staff Dr. Paul Horvath and Sarah McCune present a check to Arbor Place staff to support the new Women's & Children Treatment Unit.
As part of its efforts to foster healthy Northwest Wisconsin communities, Mayo Clinic Health System – Red Cedar donated $45,000 to Arbor Place, Inc. in Menomonie. Arbor Place, Inc. provides counseling and renewal opportunities to people, families and communities impacted by substance abuse and mental health disorders.
The donation will support Arbor Place, Inc.’s Brighter Tomorrows: A Capital Campaign for Mothers in Recovery. This initiative aims to address the significant barriers that often prevent mothers from seeking the help they need. The campaign will fund a new Women & Children’s Treatment Unit, a residential unit for women struggling with substance abuse disorder and offer the opportunity for them to bring their children with them. By accommodating children during their mothers' treatment, the unit will keep families together, promoting essential bonding and developmental stability for the patients’ children.
The unit will also offer vital parenting support and education, and patient-tailored care. This holistic approach aids mothers in their recovery journeys and fosters a supportive environment for their children, paving the way for brighter futures across generations.
