Heroes for Healthcare gets Go-Ahead from Medical Examining Board
A new program that will help military medics, corpsmen, and medical technicians to transition into civilian health care careers took an important step forward when the Medical Examining Board approved emergency rule SPS 11, relating to the military medical personnel program (Wis-MAC).
As Community Engagement Manager for Heroes for Healthcare Joyce Mallory noted in her comments in support of SPS 11, “Hospitals across the state have been working on their implementation plans, and now we can begin working to recruit service members who are transitioning to civilian life to participate in the program.” Mallory expressed her appreciation for the WHA members already involved in Wis-MAC and encouraged anyone interested to reach out to Heroes for Healthcare.
Heroes for Healthcare’s informational letter describes the current status of the program, including the required memorandum of understanding and the licensure timeline.
