First Annual WHA Quality and Patient Safety Awards Presented
The WHA Quality and Patient Safety Awards recognize hospitals that advance and improve patient outcomes in Wisconsin. The program has two award categories – Excellence in Health Care Quality and Patient Safety and Hospital Mentorship and Quality Champion.
The Excellence in Health Care Quality and Patient Safety award recognizes hospitals committed to taking innovative steps to improve quality, patient safety and patient outcomes. There is an award for three different bed-size categories.
The Hospital Mentorship and Quality Champion award recognizes a hospital for demonstrating mentoring relationships and engagement through active participation, collaboration and the sharing of tools and resources with other hospitals.
WHA presented the first annual Quality and Patient Safety awards to the following four hospitals at a recognition dinner in Madison on Feb. 27. Each hospital was awarded a plaque and shared an overview of their work.
The Excellence in Healthcare Quality & Patient Safety Award winners are:
Tomah Health, Tomah

Aurora Medical Center, Mount Pleasant

Children's Wisconsin, Milwaukee

Fort HealthCare, Fort Atkinson

To learn more about the quality improvement work taking place in Wisconsin hospitals and health systems, WHA will be hosting its second annual WHA Health Care Quality Showcase at the Capitol Rotunda on March 20, 2024, in conjunction with WHA's Advocacy Day. Find more information, including which hospitals will be exhibiting, here.
