Matching Grants Support Shovel-Ready Building Projects Including Clinics and Health Centers

On Sept. 10, 2025, Gov. Tony Evers announced the opening of the next round of funding for the Grants for Local Projects (Non-State Grant Program). Non-profit organizations can apply for grant funding to support local infrastructure improvement and community development projects. The program was first created with a $50 million allocation from the 2023-25 budget and has supported 50 community projects statewide, including local health clinics, community centers, emergency response facilities and more. The program received another $50 million in the 2025-27 budget.

The application period for the next round of funding is open with a deadline of October 31, 2025. To be eligible for a grant, organizations must secure funding from non-state revenue sources covering at least half of the total project cost and be ready for construction. Due to anticipated high demand, project awards will be capped at $2 million. Additional information about the Non-State Grant Program, including guidelines and application procedures, is available here.
