WHA’s Larson Elected to Wisconsin HOSA Board

Leigh Ann S. LarsonLeigh Ann S. LarsonThe Wisconsin Hospital Association (WHA) has a long-standing commitment to strengthening Wisconsin’s health care workforce through education, engagement and early exposure to careers in health care. That commitment is further reinforced with the election of a WHA leader to the Wisconsin HOSA–Future Health Professionals Board of Directors.

WHA Vice President of Education and WHA Foundation Executive Director Leigh Ann S. Larson has been elected to a two-year term on the Wisconsin HOSA Board of Directors. HOSA is a student-led organization that provides middle and high school students interested in health care careers with the opportunity to develop leadership and technical skill competencies through motivation, awareness and recognition. Their mission is to empower future health care professionals to become leaders in the global community through education, collaboration and experience.

WHA’s partnership with Wisconsin HOSA aligns closely with its So Many Options campaign, which highlights the wide range of clinical and non-clinical career pathways available in health care. Through the campaign, WHA has featured Wisconsin HOSA chapters across its social media platforms, showcasing the talent and passion of students preparing to enter the health care field.

In addition to promoting Wisconsin HOSA chapters through So Many Options, WHA actively supports the organization by attending, presenting and judging competitive events at their annual State Leadership Conference.

“The partnership between Wisconsin HOSA, WHA and the WHA Foundation is a natural one. There is not one solution to our state’s health care workforce issues," said Larson. She added, "Providing resources to encourage students to consider careers in health care, whether it be clinical or non-clinical, is one of the ways to move the dial to ensure that people in our communities can receive all the care they need at their local hospital. I am proud to represent WHA on the Wisconsin HOSA board to continue this critical work.”
