The 2023 WHA Wisconsin Rural Health Conference was held in Wisconsin Dells June 7-9. The conference kicked off with a golf outing and evening welcome reception. Thank you to the golf hole prize sponsors Wapiti Medical Staffing, WCHQ, EUA and GRAEF.
June 8 was a full day of education and networking. Chris Brabant, chair of the WHA Council on Rural Health and president and CEO at HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital, was the conference emcee. He first welcomed Dr. Ted James to the stage. Dr. James, Harvard medical director and leader in health care transformation, shared information and strategies on how to revitalize teams while coping with workplace stress.
Next, WHA President and CEO Eric Borgerding and Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative Executive Director Tim Size gave their annual address to conference attendees on the State of Health Care in Wisconsin.
The afternoon breakout sessions were a mixture of timely and relevant topics related to rural health care. For a summary of the topics and WHA corporate member presenters, click

On the final day, Rural EMS Outreach Program Manager James Small discussed how to build a high-performing work environment. National speaker, entrepreneur and author Lisa X.
