In-Person Conference Brings Physician Leaders Together for the First Time in Three Years
The popular WHA Physician Leadership Development Conference (PLDC) held on June 16 and 17 at the KI Convention Center in Green Bay offered a welcome return to in-person networking and learning for a group that has not gotten together in more than three years.
After attending a joint morning session with the Wisconsin Rural Health Conference, more than 50 PLDC attendees, including physician leaders and their CEOs, participated in a workshop entitled, “Burned Out or Fired Up? Leading Interdisciplinary Health Care Teams in a Disengaged World.” Course instructor and American Association of Physician Leadership executive Dan Diamond, MD, led the interactive discussion around effective strategic leadership approaches that enable change.
The “self,” “squad” and “system” models “fuel the individual, inspire the team and transform the organization from the inside out,” Diamond revealed. Underscoring the value of this model in catalyzing and sustaining real change, Diamond’s participatory presentation style left the group energized and armed with the tools necessary to lead their respective hospitals through positive transformation.
WHA thanks PLDC sponsors Merritt Hawkins and the WHA Information Center for their support of this year’s conference.
Photos from the conference are available for viewing and download here.
Mark your calendars for the 2023 Physician Leaders Development Conference scheduled for March 10-11 at The American Club in Kohler.
