WHA Welcomes Molly Wiegel, New Senior Vice President of Finance, Chief Operating Officer

Molly Wiegel
Molly Wiegel joined WHA as senior vice president of finance and chief operating officer on Sept. 16. In this vital role, Wiegel will lead, implement and execute strategies and programs to ensure WHA is positioned for fiscal sustainability in the changing health care and regulatory environment.

"Molly's breadth of expertise in health care finance and operations will be invaluable to WHA as we navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead," said WHA President and CEO Eric Borgerding. "Her leadership will help ensure that we continue to provide strong advocacy and support for our member hospitals and health systems."

Wiegel comes to WHA after spending over a decade in hospital finance, operations and reimbursement consulting roles. She began her health care career in accounting at Southwest Health, then joined Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County to serve as finance manager and eventually chief operating officer for four years, overseeing all facets of operations including human resources, facilities, marketing and communications, information technology and finance.

Most recently, Wiegel worked as a senior consultant at Wiplfli, providing Medicaid reimbursement consulting services to Federally Qualified Health Centers in California.

Wiegel will be succeeding Brian Potter, who has moved on to a new role as senior advisor for WHA.
