In recognition of National Hospital Week May 7-13, 2023, Gov. Tony Evers has issued a
proclamation that recognizes and celebrates the contributions of Wisconsin hospitals and health systems to the communities they serve.
Evers’ proclamation lauds the state’s hospitals for providing “accessible, compassionate, and high-quality healthcare services to the state’s residents every day of every year, creating opportunities for Wisconsinites to heal from illness or injury and live their best, fullest, and healthiest lives.”
The proclamation goes on to underscore how Wisconsin’s hospitals are significant drivers of the state’s economy, lead the way in health care quality, and are a crucial safety net for the communities they serve, providing nearly $2 billion in community benefits and charity care annually.
