Share Your Hospital's Quality Improvement Stories
The WHA quality team is gathering stories for our annual 2025 Wisconsin Health Care Quality Report, promoting quality stories within Wisconsin hospitals. If your hospital has a quality improvement project highlighting projects in 2024, we would like to hear from you. Stories included in last year’s report can be viewed here.
Email your story and attach any photographs or images of your work to Marcia Egle by May 1.
Photos, graphs or images should be sent as separate attachments for inclusion in the report. Photos should be sent as .jpg or .png files; graphs should be sent as .jpg, .png, PowerPoint slide, Excel file or PDF.
WHA Health Care Quality Showcase is April 9
The Health Care Quality Showcase is an excellent opportunity to highlight and promote the innovative quality improvement efforts of Wisconsin hospitals.
Join us on April 9, 2025, from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. in the Capitol Rotunda to learn about the impactful work being done at hospitals across Wisconsin to enhance patient safety and improve care. This event provides a platform to engage with elected officials, Advocacy Day attendees and the public, helping to raise awareness of the significant strides hospitals are making in delivering high-quality, safe care. View the list of participating hospitals/health care organizations here.
If you have questions, please contact Nadine Allen or Marcia Egle.
Advocacy Day is April 9
Advocacy Day is a fantastic opportunity for WHA members to engage with policymakers, share their stories and advocate for important health care issues.
This year's event features a fireside chat with Green Bay Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur and WHA President and CEO Eric Borgerding. During this session, LaFleur and Borgerding will discuss the importance of leadership in ever-changing environments. They will also share insights on guiding diverse teams in dynamic organizations. WHA has an outstanding legislative panel for Advocacy Day 2025 with confirmed panelists from both parties including Sen. LaTonya Johnson (D-Milwaukee), Rep. Tip McGuire (D-Kenosha), Rep. Clint Moses (R-Menomonie) and Sen. Romaine Quinn (R-Birchwood). The panel provides attendees with in-depth insight into the legislative session and issues facing health care in our state.
There is no cost to attend Advocacy Day, but we're nearing record registrations and pre-registration is required. Register here.
If you have any questions, please email Nadine Allen. We hope to see you all there!
Risks of Dismissing Patient, Family, and Caregiver Concerns Webinar Recording Available
Strengthening the provider-patient relationship begins with truly listening. When providers engage with patients and caregivers with empathy and openness, it fosters trust, improves communication and leads to better health outcomes, according to Marcus Schabacker, MD, Susan Sheriday, MIM, MBA, and Shannon Davila, MSN, RN, who presented March 18 at the Risks of Dismissing Patient, Family, and Caregiver Concerns webinar. They shared that by valuing patient and caregivers’ perspectives and concerns, we create a more collaborative and supportive care and that addressing these issues is crucial for improving health care safety, quality and patient-centered care.
Risks-of-Dismissing-Patient-Family-and-Caregiver-Concerns discusses how elements of a total systems approach to safety can be used to foster supportive care. You can register to review the recording on ECRI’s On-Demand Webinars using the link above.
