Registered Nurse Renewal Timeframe Now Open
Wisconsin’s licensed registered nurses (RNs) were notified by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) on Jan. 10, 2024, that their renewal period was open. This is the first time that Wisconsin’s 118,000 active RN license holders will renew utilizing DSPS’s LicensE platform. It’s a leap year, so RNs have one more day to renew this year. The renewal timeframe ends on Feb. 29, 2024.
Access to the LicensE renewal relies on the email address DSPS has on record for the license holder. RNs who did not receive an email from DSPS with a username should request an email change of address utilizing the Request Support option at the top of the LicensE home page. DSPS advises that license holders should not create a new account to renew and reminds RNs to remember to add “.dsps” to the end of their email as their username.
Contact WHA Senior Vice President of Workforce and Clinical Practice Ann Zenk with questions about licensure or any other health care workforce issue.
